Members

Waka Whakamua is led by a community governance group who provide the direction and leadership of all six collectives. As a result, the founding members are those who have been nominated by the collectives themselves as individuals best to represent their collectives. The result of this is a direct line of sight from governance to delivery without the complexities of a complicated and congested structure that requires an unnecessary filtration of data and information prior to delivery. This maintains the community led ‘bottom up’ approach we have employed for these collectives.

Communication and interaction is direct between delivery and governance. Applying this approach will ensure alignment between both governance and delivery is fluid.

Invitation of other influential members in the community can occur on approval by the current members in the community governance group. In the initial stages, members will be those nominated by the collectives to best represent them.
